Grand Opening Event
The Indianapolis Public Library’s Center for Black Literature & Culture’s (CBLC) grand opening event will be Saturday, October 21, 2017, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Central Library (40 E St. Clair Street). Special guest Roland S. Martin, journalist and political commentator, will give the keynote presentation at 12:30 p.m., with Q&A and a book signing to follow. THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
The CBLC will offer bold, larger-than-life images, interactive displays, books, events and more, highlighting black heroes who have and are transforming the world through their courage, talents, and activism. It will be dedicated to celebrating the vibrant and resilient heritage and triumphs of those born of African roots. As an integral part of American and world history and culture, this space is for all who are interested in exploring the rich heritage that has influenced nations across the globe.
